Lemetris Johns Curry was born and raised in Surry County, Virginia and is the eldest child of Howard and Beatrice Johns. She resides in Portsmouth, VA with her husband Tarance Curry, and two children, Nathan and David. Lemetris is the product of Surry County Public schools and Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. She earned a Bachelor of Science degree at Virginia Tech’s renowned College of Architecture and Urban Studies’ Interior Design program. She is currently employed with Tyco SimplexGrinnell as a Computer Aided Design Support Technician.
Her spiritual walk began during her adolescence at Mt. Nebo Baptist Church in Surry, VA under the leadership of Pastor D. L. Baltimore where she accepted Jesus Christ as Savior and received baptism. There she served in many capacities including diaconate ministry, choir, liturgical dance ministry, praise and worship team, and briefly with A/V ministry and vacation bible school.
In her post collegiate years, there began an ever increasing hunger for the knowledge of God. She would find herself incidentally counseling and encouraging all types of people without understanding why. While growing in God’s Word, He groomed her into an intercessor.
When her husband followed the instruction of God and planted Kingdom Living Ministries in Williamsburg, VA in 2009; her ministerial gifts began to unfold. After much illumination and confirmation, she humbly accepted her ministerial calling into pastor-ship.
At Kingdom Living Ministries she serves in various capacities including Assistant Pastor, Bible teacher, praise team, graphics and church administration. She has a passion for worshiping God, teaching people and praying for others. Her favorite bible verse is Psalm 27:4, “One thing have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to inquire in his temple.”
